Springfield, Mass. – March 10, 2014 - Senior Gabriella Gaudreault (Leominster, Mass.) will represent the Springfield College women’s track & field team at the 2014 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday.
The championship meet will be held at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska on the campus of the University of Nebraska and Gaudreault earned the top overall seed in the 800-meter run.
Gaudreault will be making her third appearance on the national stage as she competed in last year’s indoor and outdoor championship meets. The senior earned All-America honors last spring at the NCAA D-III Track and Field Championship, finishing fourth overall in the 800m with a school-record time of 2:09.80.
Gaudreault has had a stellar indoor season, breaking school records in both the 800m and 1000m. Her qualifying time of 2:09.57 in the 800m is the fastest time in Division III this season and the 7th fastest time in D-III history. There will be 17 runners competing in the event.
The preliminaries begin at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Friday The finals will be held on Saturday at 4:55 p.m
Gaudreault was also honored this season by the USTFCCA as the Division III National Athlete of the Week after her record-setting performance in the 800m at the 2014 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
