Springfield, Mass. - February 3, 2019 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team lost to nationally-ranked Amherst, 179-102, in their final dual meet of the season on Sunday afternoon in Linkletter Natatorium.
The Mammoths were ranked 10th in the most recent CSCAA Division III National Poll and produced the fastest time or best score in every event on Sunday.
For Springfield, Olivia Paione (Auburn, Maine) turned in a 32.14 in the 50 breast, finished second in the 100 free with a 55.78, and had the Pride's best showing in the 100 IM with a 1:03.13.
On the one-meter board, Bailee Carey (Quincy, Mass.) produced a score of 372.62 before later erupting for a 396.84 on the three-meter board.
Lauren Longley (Westfield, Mass.) was the runner-up in the 100 fly in 1:03.12 and delivered a 5:39.68 in the 500 free, and Haley Cordery (Berkley, Mass.) took second in the 50 free after sprinting to a 26.29. Brianna Magee (Hauppauge, N.Y.) alsoo notched the second-fastest time in the 50 fly with a 27.89.
Monique Forte (Providence, R.I.) completed the 200 free in 2:08.15, while Amelia McKenzie (Charlton, Mass.) registered a 1:13.05 in the 100 breast. Grace Moore (Glastonbury, Conn.) swam a 4:48.65 in the 400 IM, Jessica Hart (Middletown, Conn.) totaled a 30.84 in the 50 back, and Hillary Gallagher (Exeter, R.I.) posted a 1:05.24 in the 100 back.
The Pride closed out the meet taking second in the 200 freestyle relay thanks to Moore, Magee, Cordery, and Paione combining for a 1:41.19.
