Springfield, Mass. - November 7, 2018 - Springfield College's Joseph Fusco (Billerica, Mass) was selected as the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Wrestler of the Week after leading the Pride at the Ithaca Invitational last weekend.
Fusco, who was ranked 10th in country at 285 pounds in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III individual rankings to start the year, pinned Greensboro's Brandon Williams in just 1:41 in his season debut before notching a 23-4 technical fall against Jose Diaz from Johnson & Wales. The Criminal Jusice major then wasted no time pinning RIC's Travis Manick in the quarterfinals as he prevailed in just 51 seconds.
