Springfield, Mass. - April 29, 2019 - Springfield College's Alexyss Conley (Bloomingburg, N.Y.) was once again recognized as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Softball Athlete of the Week as she helped the Pride finish the regular season with four-straight victories.
Conley, a junior infielder and Physical Education major at Springfield College, had a tremendous week for the Pride, going 10-for-16 at the plate, batting .625, with six doubles, one triple, one home run, and five RBi. Conley also stole two bases and scored eight runs, leading the Pride to a 4-0 week. Conley went 4-for-4 with four doubles in a win over Smith, and had two hits apiece in the remaining three games of the week, including a solo home run in an 8-1 victory over Smith in game two.
Springfield College will now enter the 2019 NEWMAC Championship Tournament as the No. 4 seed and will travel to top-seeded WPI on Wednesday, May 1 for a 2:30 p.m. contest with No. 5 Emerson. If the Pride wins, it will play the Engineers at 4:30 p.m.
