Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to No. 4 MIT, 209-76

Springfield, Mass. - November 4, 2017 - The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team competed against MIT on Saturday afternoon in the Art Linkletter Natatorium. The Pride fell by a score of 209-76. Coming into Saturday's meet, the Engineers were ranked No. 4 in the TYR/College Swimming Coaches Association of America Division III Preseason National Rankings.

In the 400 medley relay, the team of Kyle Bauer (Bath, Maine), Tim DeCoste (Greenville, R.I.), Sean Harnish (Middlebury, Conn.), and Nicholas Smith (Longmeadow, Mass) finished fourth with a time of 3:51.67. Also highlighting the Pride's day was in the 1,000 free, Harnish registered a 10:53.98 for third place, while Kent Parsons (Hamilton, Mass.) posted a 22.33 in the 50 free, which was good for fourth. Lastly, Decoste was fourth in the 100 free with a time of 51.86.

In the diving events, Connor Pennington (Monson, Mass) won the one-meter with a score of 297.00 and finished third on the three-meter with 258.31.

The next meet for the Pride is scheduled for Friday, November 17 when Springfield College will host Williams at 6 p.m.
