Springfield, Mass. - May 9, 2019 - The Springfield College men's lacrosse team had four student-athletes named to the 2019 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference Teams.
In helping Springfield reached the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament for the 12th-straight year after once again capturing the conference's title, Joe Hawley (Poulsbo, Wash.) and Kyle Murakami (South Burlington, Vt.) were named to the all-conference first team, while Cole Finerty (Kensington, N.H.) and Cameron Glover (Brunswick, Maine) garnered all-conference second team accolades. This marks the first all-conference honor for each student-athlete in their careers at Springfield.
Hawley had a special junior season and has produced a team-best 71 points. The Sport Management major leads the team with 30 assists to go along with 41 goals and has had at least three points in 12 games this year.
Murakami has had a tremendous impact for the Pride and was the one shortstick defensive midfielder named to the first team. The Psychology major has been credited with 37 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers and has also chipped in three goals and an assist in his junior campaign.
In his final season at Springfield, Finerty has delivered one of the best single-season performances for a goalie in history of the program. The Sport Management major has notched 256 saves, the second most in single season for a Springfield goalie, and headlines a defense that ranks 10th among the 240 Division III programs in the country in total saves.
Glover has put together a fantastic senior year as a leader on Springfield's first midfield line. A Physical Education major, Glover has found the back of the cage 26 times and has totaled 41 points, including nine games with at least three points.
