Holt Earns HERO Sports Division III Preseason First Team All-America Honors

Bellevue, Wash. - September 1, 2016 - Coming off a historic season a year ago, Springfield College senior Lauren Holt (Granby, Conn.) was chosen to the HERO Sports Division III Preseason All-America First Team.

Holt was one of 21 student-athletes from across the entire nation to be recognized and was one of seven to be named to the first team.

A key reason why Springfield earned its sixth-straight trip to the NCAA Championship, Holt registered 295 kills at a sensational .401 clip, which not only led the conference, but was also the fifth best hitting percentage in the nation.  Defensively, she was even more dominant, as she produced the most blocks (192) and blocks per set (1.68) of any player at the NCAA Division III level this year. Additionally, her 192 blocks proved to be a new single-season program record.

The reigning New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Year, Holt was one of only three women's volleyball student-athletes at the NCAA Division III level to earn both First Team Capital One Academic All-American® honors and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) First Team All-America honors last season.

She will enter her final season at Springfield looking to build on her career numbers which are highlighted by 854 kills on a .355 hitting percentage to go along with 447 blocks.
