Luscier and Madeia Compete at Tufts National Qualifying Meet

Medford, Mass. - March 3, 2018 - The Springfield College women's track and field team had two student-athletes compete at the Tufts Nationally Qualifying Meet on Saturday afternoon in the Gantcher Center.

In her final meet before the NCAA Division III Championships, senior Courtney Luscier (Pittsfield, Mass.) notched a meet-best prelim time of 7.72 seconds in the 60 meter dash, before she came back in the finals and posted a matching time of 7.72 seconds to win the race. Luscier's time of 7.72 seconds in the 60 meter dash moved her up to a tie for eighth in the country, securing her spot at nationals later this month.

Racing in the 800 meter run, standout junior Kristen Madeia (Berlin, Conn.) crossed the finish line in 2:18.57, her career-best with the Pride. With her time, Madeia finished eighth overall.

Luscier will now prepared for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be hosted in Birmingham, Ala. on March 9-10.
