London Named to Inaugural NEWMAC Women's Tennis All-Sportsmanship Team

Boston, Mass. - October 25, 2016 - Springfield College senior Rachel London (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) was selected to the inaugural New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Tennis All-Sportsmanship Team.

New to the conference this year, the NEWMAC has established an All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2016-17 Academic Year. The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each team, in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of his/her overall performance or statistics for the season.

Playing at the top of the lineup for the Pride thoughout her entire career, London was instrumental in Springfield reaching postseason play for the fourth-consecutive season, the longest such-streak in Division III program history. This season, London racked up five wins at the No. 1 doubles spot and earned three wins in conference play at No. 1 singles as one of the Pride's co-captains.
