Women's Swimming and Diving Concludes Second Day of Ithaca Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. - December 1, 2018 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team finished up the second day of the Ithaca Invitational on Saturday.

Cornell led the 11-team field with 1262.5 points, followed by SUNY Geneseo (1046) and Rochester (745), while Ithaca (563), and Springfield (537.5) rounded out the top five. 

In the first event of the day, the team of Brianna Magee (Hauppauge, N.Y.), Haley Cordery (Berkley, Mass.), Amelia McKenzie (Charlton, Mass.), and Olivia Paione (Auburn, Maine) finished fifth in the 200 free relay with a 1:39.81.  In the 400 IM, Grace Moore (Glastonbury, Conn.) posted a 4:39.48 to finish in fifth place, while Lauren Longley (Westfield, Mass.) completed the 100 fly in 1:01.34.

Cordery turned in a 1:59.04 in the 200 free and the 400 medley team of Moore, Paione, Madisen Crowley (Manchester, Conn.) recorded a 4:05.66.

On the three-meter board, Sierra Skaza (Belchertown, Mass.) totaled a 417.10, which was good enough for third place, while Bailee Carey (Quincy, Mass.) scored a 380.00 to finish in ninth. 

In the evening session, Longley opened things up with a 2:14.96 in the 200 fly, while Paione swam the sixth-fastest time in the 200 breast after touching in 1:07.68.  Hillary Gallagher (Exeter, R.I.) recorded a 1:02.01 in the 100 back, and in the final event of the night, Paione, Izzy Ripp (Selden, N.Y.), Cordery, and Moore combined for a 7:56.08 in the 800 free relay.
