Women's Swimming and Diving Wraps Up First Day of Ithaca Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. - November 30, 2018 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team kicked off the three-day Ithaca Invitational on Friday night and competed in five events.

11 teams from across the region are competing in the invitational this weekend.  Cornell led day one scoring with 450 points, followed by SUNY Geneseo (421), Ithaca (228.5), Rochester (214), and Springfield (175.5).

Lauren Longley (Westfield, Mass.) completed the 500 free in 5:27.46 to pace the Pride's efforts, while Hannah Savoie (Milford, Conn.) turned in a 5:27.46.  Springfield had a pair of top-10 finishers in the 200 IM, with Grace Moore (Glastonbury, Conn.) delivering a 2:11.41 to finish in seventh, while Olivia Paione (Auburn, Maine) was right behind her in eighth with a 2:11.77.

In the 50 free, Brianna Magee (Hauppauge, N.Y.) turned in a 25.36 and the 200 medley team of Moore, Paione, Magee, and Amelia McKenzie (Charlton, Mass. ) swam a 1:50.70 to finish in seventh.

On the one-meter board, Springfield had a pair of divers finish in the top nine, led by Sierra Skaza (Belchertown, Mass.), who took sixth with a 432.75.  Bailee Carey (Quincy, Mass.) registered a score of 401.75 to place ninth among the 19 divers.
