Women's Swimming and Diving Outlasted by No. 3 Williams, 189-96

Springfield, Mass. - November 17, 2017 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving team fell to nationally-ranked Williams College, 189-96, on Friday evening in the Art Linkletter Natatorium. Coming into Friday night's meet, Williams was ranked No. 3 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III National Rankings.

Beginning the night in the 400 medley relay, the team of Izzy Ripp (Selden, N.Y.), Christine Shea (Peabody, Mass.), Delaney Dyjak (Ludlow, Mass.) and Brianna Magee (Happauge, N.Y.) took third with a combined time of 4:09.49, before Lauren Longley (Westfield, Mass.) touched third in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:22.21. Dyjak took third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.99, while in the 100 breastroke, Olivia Paione (Auburn, Maine) finished third with a time of 1:10.69, finishing just ahead of Kassandra Lamb (Reading, Mass.), who touched in 1:12.86.

Sophomore Danielle Hoffner (Bridgewater, N.J.) picked up a third-place finish inthe 200 butterfly, as she finished in 2:14.98, before Paione picked up her second third-place finish of the night, this time in the 100 freestyle, as the junior touched in 56.07 seconds. Junior Haley Cordery (Berkley, Mass.) took third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:22.83, while in the 200 yard freestyle relay, the team of Cordery, Dyjak, Magee and Paione took second with a time of 1:40.16.

In the diving events, junior Sierra Skaza (Belchertown, Mass.) took second on the one-meter board with a score of 237.97, while on the three-meter board, she took first with a score of 262.96.

Next, Springfield College will return to action on Saturday, November 18, when it hits the road and competes in a tri-meet with Keene State and Wheaton at 1 p.m. in Norton, Mass.
