Medeiros Concludes Career at NCAA Championships in the 200 Breast

Shenandoah, Texas - March 18, 2017 - Springfield College senior Emily Medeiros (Wakefield, Mass.) concluded her remarkable collegiate career on Saturday morning when she raced in the 200 breaststroke at the 2017 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the Conroe ISD Natatorium.

A night after earning her fifth-career All-America honor, Medeiros competed in the 200 breast, racing in lane six of the fourth heat.  The Physical Therapy major, who entered the event withthe 10th-fastest qualifying time, a 2:18.15, clocked in 2:20.89 to finish 21st overall.

Medeiros was dominant over the past four years in the pool, as this marked her fourth-straight trip to the national stage.  In addition to winning eight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) breaststroke titles in her career, Medeiros earned All-America honors five times, including finishing fourth in the 100 breaststroke in both 2016 and 2017.
