Skaza Takes Sixth on Three-Meter at NCAA Regional Championships

Cambridge, Mass. - February 25, 2017 - Springfield College's Sierra Skaza (Belchertown, Mass.) put together an outstanding showing in the second and final day of the 2017 NCAA Division III Northeast-North Regional Diving Championships on Saturday at Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center Pool on the campus of MIT. 

A day after she placed eighth on the one-meter board, Skaza finished sixth out of the 26-diver field on the three-meter board with a score of 439.35.  Based on her weekend performance, Skaza was named the first alternate from the region for the three-meter board at NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, which will take place March 15-18, 2018, at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.

After all 11 dives, Wellesley College sophomore Maura Sticco-Ivins won the event with a score of 514.95, followied by Carmen White from NYU's score of 491.10.  Vivian Zhou from MIT rounded out the top three with her mark of 486.40.
