Women's Swimming and Diving Opens First Day of Ithaca Invitational

Ithaca, N.Y. - December 2, 2016 - The Springfield College women's swimming and diving competed in the opening day of the Ithaca Invitational on Friday night.

Competition opened with the 500 Free, where Haley Nolan (Lowell, Mass.) led the Pride with a time of 5:25.23.

Olivia Paione (Auburn, Maine) put forth a strong performance in the 200 IM, touching the wall in 2:11.64. Christine Shea (Peabody, Mass.) and Mackenzie Coleman (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) also saw sucess in this event, finishing in 2:16.05 and 2:16.77, respectively. 

In the 50 Free, Emily Medeiros (Wakefield, Mass.) was the Pride's top finisher with a 25.83.

In the 3 meter diving event, sophomore Sierra Skaza (Belchertown, Mass.) finished with a score of 360.35.  

Springfield will compete again tomorrow for the second day of the Ithaca Invitational, with events beginning at 10am.
