  • Wrestling Produces Ninth-Best Team Grade Point Average in Division III; Fusco Named Scholar All-America

    Springfield, Mass. - June 12, 2018 - The Springfield College wrestling team produced the ninth-best team grade point average among Division III wrestling programs, as the National Wrestling Coaches Association released its Top 30 Division III All-Academic teams.  Additionally, Joe Fusco (Billerica, Mass.) was named a NWCA Scholar All-America for the second-straight year.

    Worcester, Mass. - February 25, 2018 - The Springfield College wrestling team had seven of it's ten competitors remaining on Sunday, as the Pride wrapped up competiiton at the 2018 NCAA Division III Regional Championships, hosted at WPI. Highlighting the day was sophomore heavyweight Joseph Fusco (Billerica, Mass.), who punched his ticket to the NCAA Division III Championships, which will be hosted in Cleveland, Ohio from March 9-10.
  • Seven Wrestlers Advance To Second Day Of NCAA Division III Northeast Regional Championships

    Worcester, Mass. - February 24, 2018 - 10 members of the Springfield College wrestling competed in the opening day of the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional Championships, hosted by WPI.  As a team, Springfield is currently in seventh place among the 17 teams in the field after registering 47.5 points.
  • Wrestling Drops 20-12 Decision to WPI in Final Dual Meet of Season

    Springfield, Mass. - February 10, 2018 - The Springfield College wrestling team won four out of 10 bouts by decision, but the Pride dropped a 20-12 decision to nationally-ranked WPI on Saturday evening in the Field House. Coming into the match, WPI was ranked No. 21 in the NCAA Division III Rankings. 
  • Wrestling Picks Up A Pair of Wins at Castleton Quad

    Castleton, Vt. - February 3, 2018 - The Springfield College wrestling team competed in a quad meet with Castleton, Johnson & Wales, and Plymouth State on Saturday on the campus of Castleton University.  The Pride began the day with a comeback effort that resulted in a 28-15 win over Castleton, before dropping a 38-3 decision to JWU.  Springfield then ended the day on a highnote with a 38-6 victory over Plymouth State.

    Providence. R.I. - January 28, 2018 - Several members of the Springfield College wrestling team competed in the Wildcat Open on the campus of Johnson & Wales University on Sunday.  Wrestlers from 17 institutions from across the region participated in the non-team scoring event.

    Springfield, Mass. - January 26, 2017 - Despite wins at 149 for Ryan Peters (Wells, Maine) and 285 for Joseph Fusco (Billerica, Mass.), the Springfield College wrestling team fell to nationally-ranked TCNJ, 27-9, as part of the Pride's annual "Friday Night Lights" event. Coming into the match, the Lions were ranked No. 19 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III National Rankings. 
  • Wrestling Takes Eighth at New England Duals Championship

    Providence, R.I. - January 21, 2018 - The Springfield College wrestling team finished eighth at the New England Duals Championship hosted by Johnson & Wales University on Sunday afternoon.  The Pride opened up the day with a 39-6 win over Bridgewater State before being edged by Roger Williams, 21-16, Castleton, 20-19, and Wesleyan, 22-18.

    Williamsport, Pa. - January 13, 2018 - The Springfield College wrestling team finished sixth at the Budd Whitehill Duals as it rallied past SUNY Oswego, 22-20, before falling to Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 28-18.

    Springfield, Mass. - October 17, 2017 - The Springfield College Department of Athletics is excited to unveil the 2017 True Pride Challenge, which will take place from Thursday, October 19 to Sunday, October 22.  This year's challenge will pit the current student-athlete population at Springfield College against the alumni population who participated in athletics during their time on Alden Street.
