Springfield, Mass. - January 28, 2017 - The Springfield College wrestling team was defeated by visiting Wesleyan University, 33-8, on Saturday evening in Blake Arena.
Competing in a terrific environment under a suspended matlight from the middle of the arena, the Pride battled with the Cardinals in a regional showdown.

Springfield got on the board at 133 thanks to a dominating performance by Ian Tolotti (Dumont, N.J.), who delivered a 9-0 major decision. Wesleyan responded by winning the next three weight classes by a combined six points before Aarin Feliz (Lake Hawatha, N.J.) recorded a 20-7 major decision at 165 for the hosts to bring the Pride within 24-8.
However, Wesleyan closed out the dual with a win by decision at 174 and a pin at 184 to complete the 33-8 victory.
