Sarnacki Earns Second-Straight NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week Honor

Springfield, Mass. - April 22, 2019 - Springfield College's Kate Sarnacki (Granby, Mass.) was honored for her dominant performances against Mount Holyoke and Wellesley, as she was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.

This marks the second-straight week that Sarnacki has been named the NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Athlete of the Week, as she has produced 33 points in the last four games, helping the Pride to a six-game win streak.

Sarnacki, a Sports Biology major at Springfield College, had 14 points in a pair of wins for the Pride last week, as the maroon and white pushed its win streak to six games with victories over Mount Holyoke and Wellesley. Sarnacki posted seven goals and two ground balls in the victory over Mount Holyoke, before scoring five goals and adding two assists in the 19-4 win over Wellesley. The sophomore attacker was also a perfect 5-for-5 in free-position chances.

Next, Springfield College will have the whole week to prepare for its final contest of the regular season, as the Pride will host Emerson on Saturday, April 27 at 1 p.m. on Stagg Field.
