Springfield, Mass. - June 1, 2017 - Senior goalkeeper Gabby Anderson (Mahopac, N.Y.) of the Springfield College women's lacrosse program has been recognized for her outstanding career with the Pride, as she was selected to play in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Senior All-Star Game this upcoming weekend.
The game, which will be hosted at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md., will be played on June 3, 2017 at 2 p.m., and will be streamed live here.
The Division I All-Star game will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Division II game at 12:45 p.m. The Division III All-Star Game will begin at 2 p.m. Admission for all three games is free of charge.
Anderson, who recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and American Studies, is one of two representatives from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) that were selected to play in the All-Star Game.
It was an incredible senior campaign for Anderson, who earned IWLCA First-Team Berkshire All-Region and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England honors after being named the 2017 NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Year.
Anderson was a consequential part of the Pride's success during the 2017 campaign, as she posted a goals-against average of 7.49 and a conference-best save percentage of 52.4%. Anderson, who posted a career goals-against average of 6.71, totaled 404 saves over the course of her career, which lands her sixth all-time in program history.
The Mahopac, N.Y. native will also leave Springfield College holding the top three spots in goals-against average in a single season, as she posted a GAA of 7.49 in 2017, 6.48 in 2016, and an impressive 6.27 in 2015.
