Clemens Picks Up NCGA East Gymnast of the Week Honors After Career Performance

Springfield, Mass. - March 5, 2018 - Springfield College's Jess Clemens (South Setauket, N.Y.) has been recognized as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCGA) East All-Around Gymnast of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.

This marks the third time this season that Clemens has been recognized as the NCGA East All-Around Gymnast of the Week, earning additional honors on January 16 and January 29.

Clemens, a junior for Springfield College, was phenomenal for the Pride this past weekend in its final competition before the 2018 NCGA East Regional Championships. The Sports Biology major recorded a career-best 38.425 in the all-around competition in a dual meet versus Division-I Cornell, as her meet was highlighted by a career-best vault (9.650), a 9.550 on the uneven bars, a 9.550 on floor and a 9.675 on beam. Clemens was part of a record-breaking performance for the Springfield College vaulters, who combined for a program-best 47.975 in the event.

Springfield College will now prepare for the NCGA East Regional Championships, which will be hosted on Saturday, March 10 at 1 p.m. on the campus of Rhode Island College.
