Springfield, Mass. - February 5, 2018 - Springfield College's Tali Twomey (Cotuit, Mass.) has been recognized for her impressive performance this past weekend, as she was named the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) East Co-Specialist of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.
Twomey, a sophomore for Springfield College, had an impressive showing in the Pride's dual-meet victory over Cortland, as she helped the maroon and white to it's best team score of the year (188.700). A sophomore Rehabilitation and Disability Studies major at Springfield College, Twomey tied the Springfield College program record in the floor exercise with a score of 9.825. Twomey also competed on vault on Sunday, as she registered a mark of 9.325, tying her for eighth in the event. Twomey's mark of 9.825 in the floor exercise matched Shanna Larocque's score of 9.825, which was established in 2001.
Next up, Springfield College will travel to Yale on Saturday, February 10 for a 1 p.m. meet with the Bulldogs, Southern Connecticut and Bridgeport.
