Restituyo Garners Conference and Regional Player of the Week Honors

Springfield, Mass. - January 29, 2018 - Springfield College's Gracie Restituyo (Barrington, R.I.) has been selected as the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday. Restituyo was also recognized as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III North Player of the Week, announced Tuesday.

This marks the fifth time during the 2017-18 season that Restituyo has collected NEWMAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Restituyo, a junior forward for Springfield College, helped the Pride to a pair of wins over NEWMAC opponents as she averaged 12.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists on the week. In a 56-44 victory over WPI on Wednesday, Restituyo had eight points and 15 rebounds, before the Barrington, R.I. product notched her ninth double double of the year, totaling 17 points and 14 rebounds in a 72-60 win over Emerson on Saturday

Springfield College will host Coast Guard on Wednesday, January 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Blake Arena, before hosting Wheaton at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 3.
