Men's Track and Field Closes Indoor Regular Season at Boston University Valentines Invitational

Boston, Mass. - February 11, 2017 - The Springfield College men's track and field program finished off its indoor regular season on Saturday, as the Pride competed at the Boston University Valentines Invitational on Saturday.

In the 60 meter dash, freshman Tyler Hansen (Shelton, Conn.) was the Pride's top finisher, as he crossed in 7.26 seconds, and was closely followed by classmate Deshaun Dias (Mashpee, Mass.), who notched a time of 7.33 seconds. 

In the 400, Jake Buhelt (Falmouth, Maine) led Springfield College with a 50.88 second race, while he was followed by Erik King (Shrewsbury, Mass.), who posted a time of 50.95 seconds. In the 200, Hansen also put forth the Pride's best effort of the day as he recorded a time of 22.73 seconds. 

In the field events, Timothy Harvey (Middletown, Conn.) reached a distance of 42 feet, 1.25 inches, while Max Pacetti (Falmouth, Maine) cleared 5 feet, 10.75 inches in the high jump. 

Wrapping up the evening, junior Johnny O'Hanlon (Haworth, N.J.) posted an impressive career-best time of 15:18.67 in the 5K to qualify for the Division III New England Championships next weekend. 

Springfield College will compete in the Division III New England Championships, hosted by MIT, next Friday and Saturday.
