Champaign, Ill. - April 20, 2019 - Springfield College's Stephen Lewis (Baltimore, Md.) competed against the top gymnasts in the nation on Saturday night in the NCAA National Collegiate Championships in the State Farm Center at the University of Illinois.
Lewis became the fourth Springfield College men's gymnasts in the last six seasons to advance to the individual finals of the NCAA Championships and represented the Pride on the vault on Saturday. The junior, who previously this season became the first student-athlete in program history to win multiple ECAC All-Around titles, qualified for the finals after posting a 14.333 on Friday to finish 11th in his session. On Saturday, the Computer Graphics and Design major scored a 13.233 as he competed against student-athletes from programs such as Michigan, Stanford, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Nebraska.
