Springfield, Mass. - September 17, 2018 - Springfield College junior Stephen Lewis (Baltimore, Md.) once again competed on the international stage for the Jamaican Men's Gymnastics National Team at the Senior Pan American Championships in Lima Peru, at the Polideportivo N° 1.
Jamaica finished 13th among the 17-team field, with three gymnasts combining to score a 220.100.
Lewis, who is currently majoring in Computer Graphics and Design, competed in the all-around and scored a 72.301, which placed him 28th among the 82 gymnasts in the competition. The junior tallied a 14.267 on the vault for his best score, which proved to be the 15th-best mark on the apparatus. He also finished 31st on the floor (12.967), 42nd on the horizontal bar (11.667), 48th on the rings (12.067), 55th on the parallel bars (11.500), and 57th on the pommel horse (9.833),
Last year was a historic season for Lewis, as he who won the all-around competition at the ECAC Championships with a score of 79.450, marking the Pride's first all-around title in that championship since 1932. His year also began with international competition when he spent the first week of October at the Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal as one of five representatives for the Jamaican National Team.
