Springfield, Mass. - March 12, 2019 - For the second-straight year, Springfield College's Jake Ross (Northampton, Mass.) was named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region First Team.
Ross was one of only two players from the region to earn first-team honors for the the second-consecutive season, and one of two juniors represented on the first team. This marks the third time that Ross has earned D3hoops.com all-region honors, and the Recreation Management major was previously named the D3hoops.com Northeast Player of the Year in 2018 and the D3hoops.com Northeast Rookie of the Year in 2017.
In 23 games this year, Ross averaged 23.8 points per contest in helping a youthful Springfield squad reach the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Semifinals. The junior shot 44% from the field, connecting on 183-of-418 field goal attempts, and was especially efficient from the charity stripe, knocking down 88% of his attempts, going 137-for-155. He also pulled in 303 rebounds, handed out 92 assists, and totaled 39 steals. To date, Ross ranks 14th nationally in points per game and is 26th in free throw percentage, as he scored at least 30 points in six games this season.
Through three seasons with the Pride, Ross has scored 1,906 points, which ranks third most in program history, and has also totaled 736 rebounds, 305 assists, and 157 steals.
