ECAC Honors Ross As New England Rookie of the Week For Fifth Time

Danbury, Conn. - February 7, 2017 - For the fifth-time this season, Springfield College standout Jake Ross (Northampton, Mass.) was chosen as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week after leading the Pride in an important week of conference play.

Ross averaged 19.5 points per game in a pair of New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) outings last week as he continues to lead the league in scoring with over 22 points per contest in his freshman season.

In a setback to MIT, Ross netted a team-best 19 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals before putting together a terrific showing versus Wheaton in which he delivered his ninth double-double of the season with a 20-point, 10-rebounds outing, which also included three assists and three steals.

Springfield will return to the courts on Wednesday when it travels to face the nation's top-ranked team, Babson, for a 5:30 pm conference contest.
