  • Baseball Bows Out of NEWMAC Championship Tournament With Extra-Inning Loss to MIT

    Cambridge, Mass. - May 2, 2019 - Despite carrying a four-run lead into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Springfield College baseball team fell to MIT, 7-6, in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Tournament's play-in game at Fran O'Brien Field on Thursday afternoon. The Pride, which was the fifth seed in the conference tournament, closes its season with a record of 20-17, while MIT, which was the fourth seed in the bracket, improves to 19-16-1 overall and advances to take on top-seeded Wheaton College on Friday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m. 
  • Baseball Walks Off in Game Two to Force NEWMAC Split With WPI

    Springfield, Mass. - April 27, 2019 - The Springfield College baseball program finshed off the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) West regular-season series against WPI on Archie Allen Field on Saturday afternoon, and the Pride dropped game one, 2-1, in 18 innings, before the Pride was able to come from behind and beat the Engineers, 6-5, in 11 innings in game two.
  • Baseball Defeats Amherst, 7-5, in Non-Conference Play

    Amherst, Mass. - April 25, 2019 - The Springfield College baseball team traveled to Amherst College on Thursday afternoon and escaped with a 7-5 win over the Mammoths as the Pride improved to 19-15 with the victory. With the loss, Amherst dropped to 14-12.
  • Elms Rallies Past Baseball, 8-7

    Holyoke, Mass. - April 24, 2019 - The Springfield College baseball team lost a heartbreaker to Elms in non-conference play on Tuesday evening, as the Pride fell to the Blazers, 8-7, at Mackenzie Stadium. Playing at the home stadium for the Valley Blue Sox of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, the Pride fall to 17-14 with the loss, while Elms improves to 10-20 overall.

The Pride were able to best the Cougars 6-3 in game one before falling 11-6 in the second game to come away with the two wins during the three-game weekend series.
