    Springfield, Mass. - May 30, 2018 - Following a historic 2018 season, the Springfield College baseball team had four student-athletes sign to play on summer collegiate teams, including Shawn Babineau (Ashland, Mass.), Brian Johnson (East Haddam, Conn.), Chad Shade (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Cole Donovan (Holderness, N.H.). 
  • Shade and Babineau Pick Up ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region Honors

    Springfield, Mass. - May 23, 2018 - Sophomores Chad Shade (Pittsfield, Mass.) and Shawn Babineau (Ashland, Mass.) of the Springfield College baseball program have been recognized for their impressive 2018 seasons, as the duo earned American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region honors, announced on Tuesday evening.

    Springfield, Mass. - May 9, 2018 - Following a historic 2018 season, the Springfield College baseball team had four student-athletes earn New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference honors, including sophomore pitcher Shawn Babineau (Ashland, Mass.), who was named the NEWMAC Baseball Pitcher of the Year. This marks the first time in program history that Springfield College has had a student-athlete earn NEWMAC Baseball Pitcher of the Year honors.

    Cambridge, Mass. - May 3, 2018 - Playing in its first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship Tournament since the 2014 season, the Springfield College baseball team fell to MIT, 5-0, at Fran O'Brien Field on Thursday afternoon.
  • Baseball Drops Regular-Season Finale to MIT, 10-9, in Extra Innings

    Cambridge, Mass. - April 28, 2018 - Playing its last regular-season contest of 2018, the Springfield College baseball team fell to MIT, 10-9, in 10 innings on Saturday afternoon at Fran O'Brien Field. The game, which will go in the books as a non-conference game, followed the resumption of a halted game from March 31, in which the Engineers sealed on Saturday, 6-4.
  • Cooney's Walk-Off Double Leads Baseball to Extra-Inning Victory Over Amherst, 5-4

    Springfield, Mass. - April 26, 2018 - With Nick Leduc (Belchertown, Mass.) on second base in the bottom of the tenth inning, freshman outfielder Jack Cooney (Pittsfield, Mass.) roped a double off the left-field wall to lift the Springfield College baseball team to a 5-4 extra-inning victory over regional-rival Amherst College at Archie Allen Field on Thursday evening. 
  • Baseball Picks Up 8-1 Non-Conference Victory Over Elms

    Springfield, Mass. - April 24, 2018 - The Springfield College baseball team continued its winning ways on Wednesday afternoon, as the Pride cruised past Elms, 8-1, for its fourth win in a row in non-conference play on Archie Allen Field. The victory boosts the Pride's record to 22-11-2 while the Blazers drop to 11-21 on the season. 
  • Shade Breaks Single-Season Program Record for Runs Scored; Baseball Completes Three-Game Sweep of WPI

    Northborough, Mass. - April 21, 2018 - The Springfield College baseball used a pair of victories to complete a three-game sweep of WPI in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play on Saturday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex. The Pride won the first game, 9-4, before edging the Engineers, 9-8, in game two.

    Springfield, Mass. - April 20, 2018 - Behind the pitching of three seniors in Kyle Naples (Kensington, Conn.), Ken Manero (Hudson, Mass.) and Jack Weinberger (Sunapee, N.H.), the Springfield College baseball team won the first of three games against WPI on Friday afternoon at Archie Allen Field, as the two sides began a three-game New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) West Division series.

    Providence, R.I. - April 18, 2018 - The Springfield College baseball team lost a heartbreaker on Wednesday afternoon, as Rhode Island College used two runs in the bottom of the ninth to prevail, 13-12, over the Pride on Wednesday afternoon at Pontarelli Field.

    Worcester, Mass. - April 14, 2018 - The Springfield College baseball team forced a split in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) West Division doubleheader, hosted at Clark University's Granger Field on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars used a walk-off hit to defeat the Pride, 2-1, in the first game, before Springfield College came back and knocked off the hosts, 3-1, in game two.

With the win, the Pride is now 14-5-2 on the year while the Hawks fall to 5-14 overall.

With the loss, the Pride is now 13-5-2 overall with a 3-2 mark in conference play, while the Lyons, which were the home team in Wednesday's contest, climb above .500, and are now 10-9 overall with a 5-1 record against league foes.
  • MIT Outlasts Baseball In 17-Inning Marathon Before Second Game Halted Due to Darkness

    Cambridge, Mass. - March 31, 2018 - Playing in its longest game since 2003, the Springfield College baseball team dropped a dramatic, 17-inning 6-5 setback to MIT on Saturday afternoon in the first game of a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader.  In the second contest, MIT grabbed a 6-4 lead with two runs in the bottom of the eighth before the game was halted due to darkness.

    Auburndale, Fla. - March 18, 2018 - The Springfield College baseball team finished off its annual Spring Break trip in Florida with an 8-5 triumph over New Paltz, scoring five of its eight runs in the final two innings. With the win, Springfield College improves to 8-3-1 on the year, while it posted a record of 7-2 in the sunshine state. With the loss, New Paltz is now 4-4.
