  • Men's Basketball Earns NABC Team Academic Excellence Honor; Four Earn Individual Recognition

    Kansas City, Mo. - July 18, 2018 - The Springfield College men's basketball team was recognized with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award, created by the NABC Committee on Academics. This award recognizes outstanding academic achievement by a team with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better for the 2017-18 season. 
  • Women's Volleyball Earns Seventh-Straight AVCA Team Academic Award

    Indianapolis, Ind. - June 22, 2018 - For the seventh-consecutive season, the Springfield College men's volleyball program had the highest team hitting percentage in all of Division III, and had the best winning percentage in the country for the second-straight season, according to the final NCAA National Rankings.

    Springfield, Mass. - June 20, 2018 - With the 2018 college football season on the horizon, a pair of Springfield College football student-athletes garnered national attention this preseason.  According to Lindy's Sports Annuals College Football Preview, both Nick Giorgio (Cumberland, R.I.) and Nick Bainter (East Bridgewater, Mass.) were chosen to the 2018 Preseason All-Division III Team, while Giorgio was tabbed the Lindy's 2018 Preseason National Defensive Player of the Year.

    Springfield, Mass. - June 13, 2018 - With heavy hearts, Springfield College mourns the passing of Alex Blais, an honorary teammate of the men's lacrosse program that was partnered with the Pride via Team IMPACT. Alex, a 12-year-old boy from East Longmeadow, Mass., had spent the last two seasons as an avid supporter of the Pride amidst his long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

    Springfield, Mass. - June 12, 2018 - The Springfield College wrestling team produced the ninth-best team grade point average among Division III wrestling programs, as the National Wrestling Coaches Association released its Top 30 Division III All-Academic teams.  Additionally, Joe Fusco (Billerica, Mass.) was named a NWCA Scholar All-America for the second-straight year.

    Springfield, Mass. – May 31, 2018 – Springfield College Athletics finished 22nd nationally in the final overall standings of the 2017-2018 Division III Learfield Directors' Cup. Springfield's finish marked the the third time in the last seven seasons that the Pride finished ranked in the top 25 and in the top 5% of the 450 Division III athletic programs in the country.
