Seven Track and Field Student-Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Accolades

New Orleans, La. - March 14, 2019 - The Springfield College track and field programs had seven student-athletes earn All-Region honors for their impressive performances during the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field season, which was announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). 

Of the seven total student-athletes honored, five were from the men's team, while two were from the women's team. Last season, Springfield College had four total student-athletes recognized.

A total of 1590 All-Region honors were handed out to 192 different member institutions. There was a near-even split between the genders as women combined for 804 of the honors, compared to 786 for the men. The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction.

From the men's team, Tyler Hansen (Shelton, Conn.), Kyle Kublbeck (Great Barrington, Mass.), Damian Mackay-Morgan (Simsbury, Conn.), Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.) and Josh Silvester (Manchester, Conn.) earned All-Region honors, while Chloe Dewhurst (Lancaster, Mass.) and Caroline Hitchcock (Agawam, Mass.) were both honored from the women's team.

Hansen, Silvester and Pinho recently represented Springfield College at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, as Hansen was ranked No. 3 in New England in the 200 meter dash, Silvester was No. 2 in the triple jump and Pinho was No. 3 in the one mile. Mackay-Morgan was No. 5 in the 60 meter hurdles with his school-record time of 8.35 seconds, while Kublbeck was No. 5 in the high jump with an early-season mark of 2.00 meters, or 6 feet, 6.75 inches.

On the women's side, Dewhurst, who made her debut on the national stage last weekend, was No. 2 in New England in the high jump with her school-record mark of 1.72 meters, or 5 feet, 7.75 inches, while Hitchcock finished ranked No. 5 in the event with a mark of 1.65 meters, or 5 feet, 5 inches, which was set at the Division III New England Championships on February 22.
