Three Track and Field Student-Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors After Indoor Season

Springfield, Mass. - March 13, 2018 - The Springfield College men's and women's track and field teams had three representatives on the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Region honors following their impressive performances during the 2017-18 indoor season.

Among those recognized were senior Jack Pinho (Prospect, Conn.) and junior Jarod Authier (Chicopee, Mass.) of the men's track and field team and senior Courtney Luscier (Pittsfield, Mass.) of the women's track and field team. Pinho was recognized for his competition in the one mile race, while Authier's recognition came from his efforts in the long jump. Luscier was given the All-Region nod in the 60 meter dash.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-3 relays teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, Great Lakes, Mideast, Midwest, New England, South/Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season.

It was certainly an impressive season for the duo of Pinho and Luscier, who just came home from the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships with All-America honors, taking fourth overall in their respective events. Pinho notched a time of 4:12.19 in the national-championship race, while Luscier reset her own school record in the 60 meter dash, running a 7.65 in the prelims, before coming back on Saturday and clocking in at 7.67 seconds.
